Training Exercise, Security Officers
California Exposed Firearms Permit
This is a 14-hour training course that teaches security officers information from the state manual on how to carry a firearm and how to fire a firearm. Specific areas that are covered in the class include moral and legal aspects, firearms fundamentals, and firearm nomenclature. Bay Area Training Academy is required to qualify you—on the range with 50 rounds of ammunition per caliber that you want to qualify for—so that you can carry that desired caliber of firearm while you're working as a security officer. You must provide proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, U.S. passport, permanent resident alien card, DD Form 214, or military ID card. You're also required to pass a written examination and qualify on the range with a passing range score.

California Baton Permit
The baton course includes eight hours of instruction and a written examination that you must pass. The class covers the moral and legal aspects of force when using a baton. You'll learn proper striking techniques, first aid for baton injuries, blocks, and defensive maneuvers. By using information directly from the California Baton Training Manual, you'll also learn stances, grips, drawing techniques, and appropriate striking areas. Batons are only used as a low-profile, close-range defensive impact weapon. Contact us today to learn more about our security training program.
